Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a PDF to Excel?

Choose your PDF and tap Convert to Excel. Bridge finds the tables and puts them into an XLSX spreadsheet, one sheet per page.

Will the numbers work in Excel formulas?

Numbers written like 1,250 or 37.5 are saved as real numbers, so you can add them up and sort them straight away. Other number formats may come in as text.

Which PDFs work best?

PDFs created on a computer, like bank statements, invoices and reports, where you can select the text. Tables with clear rows and columns come out best.

Why does it say no tables or text were found?

The PDF is probably a scan, which is a picture of text. Use Image to Text (OCR) to get the text out first.

Is my file safe?

Your PDF is uploaded over an encrypted connection, converted and deleted right away. We don't keep copies or look at the content.

Will I need to tidy the spreadsheet afterwards?

Sometimes. Simple tables usually come out ready to use, while complex layouts with merged cells may need a few small fixes.
