Frequently asked questions
How do I make an SVG file smaller?
Open or paste it. SVGO removes editor data, comments and unused definitions, rounds numbers and shortens paths. Files often get 30 to 80% smaller.
Will my SVG still look the same?
Each result is drawn next to the original and compared pixel by pixel. If anything looks different, you're told, and a higher precision usually fixes it.
Which precision should I use?
3 decimals suits almost every icon and illustration. Use 1 or 2 for the smallest files, or 4 or 5 for detailed maps and technical drawings.
Is it safe to put the SVG on my website?
With Remove scripts and event handlers on, scripts and on… attributes are removed, so the file can't run code.
What does Make it responsive do?
It removes the fixed width and height and keeps the viewBox, so the SVG scales to fit its container.
Is my SVG uploaded?
No. SVGO runs in your browser, so your files never leave your device.
