Frequently asked questions
How do I test an API online?
Choose the method (GET, POST …), paste the URL, add query parameters, headers or a body if you need them, and press Send. You see the status, the headers, the body and how long it took.
Why does my request fail with a CORS error?
Browsers only let web pages read answers from APIs that allow it with CORS headers. If an API doesn't, send the request through the BroAllDone server: choose it under Send from, or leave Automatic on and GET requests switch by themselves.
Is it safe to put my API keys and tokens here?
From your browser, requests go straight to the API and nothing passes through us. Through the BroAllDone server, the request is relayed and forgotten at once: nothing is logged or stored. Tokens and history are kept only in your browser, and you can clear them.
Can I test an API running on localhost?
Yes. Choose My browser: your browser can reach localhost and your own network. The BroAllDone server can't, on purpose, so it can never be used to reach private networks.
Can I send JSON, forms and files?
Yes: JSON, form fields (urlencoded), forms with file uploads (multipart), plain text, XML or a whole file as the body. Sign-in works with a Bearer token, a username and password, or an API key.
Can I turn a request into code?
Yes. The Code tab writes it for JavaScript fetch, Node.js, axios, Python requests, PHP, Go, Java, C#, Ruby, Rust and PowerShell, and the Request tab gives you the curl command. You can also paste a curl command to import it.
