Frequently asked questions

How do I convert JSON to XML?

Paste your JSON or open a .json file and tap Convert to XML. The result is always well-formed XML, ready to copy or download.

How do I make XML attributes?

Start a key with @, like "@id": 5, and it becomes id="5" on its element. A "#text" key becomes the element's text.

What happens to arrays?

An array becomes the same element repeated, once for each item. A list inside a list uses <item> elements.

What if my keys aren't valid XML names?

Keys with spaces or that start with a digit are changed to valid names, like first_name or _1st, and the number of changed keys is shown.

Which root element is used?

If your JSON is one object with a single key, that key is the root. Otherwise everything goes inside <root>, and you can choose another name.

Is my JSON uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your data never leaves your device.
