Frequently asked questions
How do I copy the text out of a PDF?
Choose your PDF and its text appears straight away. Tap Copy text to paste it anywhere, or Download .txt to save it as a text file.
Why does it say there is no text?
Some PDFs are just pictures of pages, like scans or phone photos of documents, so there is no text inside to copy. Use Image to Text on a screenshot of the page to read it.
Are lines and paragraphs kept?
Yes. Lines stay as they are on the page, paragraphs are separated by an empty line, and wide gaps such as table columns become tabs.
Can I get the text of only some pages?
Yes. Type the pages you want, like 2-5 or 1, 3, 8, then tap Get text. You can also choose whether each page is marked in the text.
Does it work with Hindi, Arabic, Chinese and other languages?
Yes. Text in any language comes out as it is stored in the PDF, and the .txt file is saved in UTF-8 so every script opens correctly.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The text is read in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device.
