Hashtag Formatter

Turn words into clean, ready-to-paste hashtags and check each platform's limit.

Private: your files never leave your device.

Separate them with commas or new lines: each phrase becomes one hashtag. Existing #hashtags are cleaned up too.

Everything happens in your browser. #CamelCase hashtags are easier to read and screen readers say them as words.

How it works

  1. Choose your files.
  2. Adjust the settings if you like.
  3. Download the result, or send it to another device with BroAllDone.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn words into hashtags?

Type or paste your words or phrases, separated by commas or new lines. Each one becomes a clean hashtag without spaces or punctuation, ready to copy.

Why use #CamelCase hashtags?

Capitalising each word (#TravelTips instead of #traveltips) makes hashtags easier to read, and screen readers say them as separate words.

How many hashtags can I use?

Instagram allows up to 5 per post, Threads one, and YouTube ignores all of a video's hashtags if there are more than 15. For TikTok, X, LinkedIn and Facebook a few well-chosen hashtags work best. The tool checks your count for each platform.

Does it work in other languages?

Yes. Hashtags can use letters from any alphabet, like #café, #東京 or #مرحبا. You can also remove accents if you prefer.

Why were some hashtags skipped?

Duplicates are removed (#Travel and #travel count as one), and hashtags made only of numbers, like #2026, don't work on most platforms. The tool lists what it skipped and why.

Can I take the hashtags out of a caption?

Yes. Choose "From a caption" and paste your text: you get the list of its hashtags and the caption without them, each ready to copy.
