    Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce the size of a photo?

Choose your images and adjust Quality. To make them smaller still, set the longest side in pixels. Each image shows its new size, and you can download them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

    What quality should I use?

Around 75–85 keeps photos looking great while cutting the size a lot. Go lower only if you need a very small file.

Should I save as JPG, WebP or PNG?

JPG works everywhere and suits photos. WebP makes smaller files for websites. PNG is best for screenshots and graphics with sharp edges or transparency.

Why is the result the same size as my original?

If compressing wouldn't make an image smaller, Bridge keeps your original instead of giving you a bigger file.

    Are my photos uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your photos never leave your device.

How do I get an exact size, like 50 KB?

Use Compress Image to KB or MB: type the size the form asks for, and it finds the best quality that fits.
