Frequently asked questions

How do I beautify CSS?

Paste your CSS or open a file, then tap Beautify CSS. Every rule and property gets its own line, with a blank line between rules if you like.

How do I minify CSS?

Tap Minify. Spaces and comments are removed, colours and values are shortened (#ff0000 becomes red, 0px becomes 0), and rules can be merged for an even smaller file.

Will minifying change how my site looks?

No. Only changes that keep the same result are made. If you prefer the rules to stay in their order, untick Merge rules for smaller files.

Are license comments kept?

Yes. Comments that start with /*! are kept by default, as licenses require. Untick Keep /*! license */ comments to remove them too.

Does it find mistakes?

Yes. Your CSS is checked as you type, and a syntax error shows its line and column. Tap Show me to jump to it.

Is my CSS uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, so your code never leaves your device.
