How do I reduce the size of a PDF?
Choose your PDF, keep Recommended selected and tap Compress PDF. You'll see the new size before you download it.
What's the difference between Recommended and Maximum?
Recommended shrinks the photos inside and keeps text sharp and selectable. Maximum turns each page into an image for the smallest file, but text can no longer be selected or searched.
How much smaller will my PDF get?
It depends on what's inside. PDFs with photos or scans often shrink a lot, sometimes by more than half. PDFs that are mostly text are already small and may not shrink much.
Why did it keep my original file?
If compressing wouldn't make the file smaller, Bridge keeps your original instead of giving you a bigger one.
Is my PDF uploaded to compress it?
No. Compression happens in your browser, so your PDF never leaves your device.
Can I compress a PDF to send by email?
Yes. Try Recommended first. If it's still too big for your email or upload form, try Maximum.
