How do I make a favicon?
Choose your logo, or type a letter or emoji, pick a shape and colours, then download the package and paste the HTML into your pages.
What's in the package?
favicon.ico (16, 32 and 48 px), PNG icons for browsers, an iPhone icon, Android icons with a maskable version, site.webmanifest and the HTML to paste. favicon.svg is included when you start from SVG or text.
Which image works best?
A square logo, 512 px or larger, or an SVG. Simple shapes and bold colours stay readable at 16 pixels.
Why is the iPhone icon not transparent?
iPhones fill transparent areas with black, so the iPhone and maskable icons get your background colour. The browser icons keep transparency.
Where do I put the files?
In your site's root folder, or any folder you type in Folder on your site: the HTML and manifest use that path.
Is my logo uploaded?
No. The icons are made in your browser, so your image never leaves your device.
