Caption Formatter

Make your post captions look great and see exactly how each app will show them.

Private: your files never leave your device.

Select words, then pick a style. Styled letters are special characters: keep the important words plain so everyone, including screen readers, can read them.

Previews show about where each app cuts your caption with "… more": the exact place changes a little with the screen size. Your text stays in your browser.

    How it works

    1. Choose your files.
    2. Adjust the settings if you like.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I make bold or italic text in an Instagram caption?

Write your caption, select the words and press a style button. The letters become special Unicode characters that look bold or italic and paste into Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and Facebook.

Why does Instagram remove my line breaks?

Instagram deletes empty lines. Keep "Keep empty lines" ticked and each empty line gets an invisible character, so your paragraphs stay apart when you paste.

How long can a caption be?

Instagram allows 2,200 characters, TikTok 4,000, LinkedIn 3,000, YouTube descriptions 5,000, Threads 500 and X 280 (where links count as 23 and emoji as 2). The tool counts each one for you.

What does the "… more" preview show?

Feeds only show the start of a caption until people tap "more". The preview shows about where each app cuts yours, so you can put the most important words first.

Can it move my hashtags to the end?

Yes. Tick "Move hashtags to the end" and every hashtag is collected after an empty line, without duplicates, while the rest of your text stays as it is.

Is my caption saved or uploaded?

It is never uploaded. A copy is kept only in this browser, so it's still there if you reload the page.
